Peter Johnson will be racing in two motorcycle classes at Queensland, Australia.
Round one of the 2018 Summit Racing Queensland Championships will hit Ironbark Raceway this weekend across March 31 to April 1. This weekend’s event is the first of three rounds scheduled for the second running of the championship and the chase for the copper ANDRA Xmas Trees.
Modified Bike racer Peter Johnson is one of the few who already has one of the prestigious trophies to his name after taking out the Modified Bike ANDRA Queensland Championship in 2017.
“In a step up from my campaign in last year’s series, I will be racing two bikes across two brackets (Modified Bike and Street Bike) this time around,” said Johnson. “I do this all the time at my home-track of Mackay so it won’t be an issue. I am looking forward to it.”
As it did in 2017, the 2018 Summit Racing Queensland Championship will seek to develop and promote drag racing in regional Queensland, taking in Ironbark Raceway (March 31-April 1), Palmyra Dragway (June 29-30) and Benaraby Raceway (Sept. 22). [03/28/18]
The first-place team over all was team Vibrant Performance, Burton Center for Arts & Tech from Salem, VA, with a blistering time of 18:12.

It’s not Friday, but the Agent just couldn’t wait to share this beauty with you. The “Unidentified Driving Object” was spotted at the 2018 L.A. Classic Auto Show. It is Jeffrey Jones’s tribute to Ed Roth’s “Mysterion” show car.

For veteran drag radial competitor Keith Haney of Broken Arrow, OK, a top-10 start plus a semi-finals finish added up to a successful outing Mar. 22-24, in promoter Donald “Duck” Long’s inaugural Sweet 16 event at South Georgia Motorsports Park (SGMP).
The Sweet 16 result continued what’s turned out to be a great start this year for Tulsa-based Keith Haney Racing. Haney opened his 2018 campaign in South Georgia Motorsports Park.
Then the team struck success a week later with another RvW final-round appearance in the season opener for the Frankenstein Engine Dynamics Mid-West Pro Mod Series (MWPMS) at the Texas Motorplex, with “Daddy Dave” Comstock of Street Outlaws TV fame at the controls of Enigma that time. Meanwhile, Haney steered “Notorious,” a second, nearly identical-appearing Camaro, to a quarter-final finish in Pro Mod at the Motorplex, again with career-best performance numbers.
“The great thing is we haven’t changed our program from last year when we won two championships in the Mid-West Pro Mod Series. We have the same team and to have Brandon Pesz and Brandon Switzer here as my crew chiefs, you just can’t ask to have two better guys on the job. We just work real well together,” Haney stressed. “I want to thank Cody Moore, Dale Hancock, Cale Hancock, Shane Goodnight and Trey Eberle for all their help, too.”
Haney will return to the track this coming weekend (Mar. 30-31), for the Radial Revenge Tour 2018 at Osage Casino Tulsa Raceway Park, which he co-owns with Todd Martin, winner of the MWPMS Pro Mod race early this month in Texas. Following that, both KHR entries will be back in action Apr. 20-22, with the MWPMS as part of the Outlaw Street Car Reunion at Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, KY. [03/28/18]
It’s the same curriculum (Tire 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3) taught by Holley’s Tom Kise. It’s also available in EFI University courses scheduled for Sept. 11-14 and Nov. 3-7. See the whole schedule at here.[03/28/18]
In his new role, Hawk will oversee racing operations, including areas of racing development, innovation and competition across all racing series at the eight Speedway Motorsports facilities. He will be responsible for working with key stakeholders and industry representatives to create exciting and competitive racing for drivers and fans across a variety of motorsports racing series, including NASCAR, NHRA, IndyCar, World of Outlaws, SCCA and more. Additionally, he will maintain his role as executive vice president for U.S. Legend Cars International, where he has worked for more than a decade to grow the grassroots racing series into an incubator for some of NASCAR’s rising stars. [03/28/18]
Other sponsorships that are being renewed for 2018 include title sponsorship of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League. E3 remains sponsor of three major Lucas Oil motorsports events: E3 Spark Plugs Off Road Nationals, the E3 Spark Plugs Lake Model Nationals, and the E3 Spark Plugs Drag Boat Nationals. [03/28/18]
The first event for the PDRA is scheduled for April 5-7 at GALOT Motorsports Park, Benson, NC. [03/28/18]
Fel-Pro, founded in 1918 in Chicago, was acquired in 1998 by Federal-Mogul Motorparts. It is a worldwide manufacturer of replacement gaskets and sealing products for cars, truck, marine, performance, and severe-duty applications. [03/28/18]
