Bob Williams of San Dimas, Calif., got a holeshot win in the final when his .018 light to McDavit’s .052 held up when Williams’ ran 9.631 to McDavit’s 9.605.


In eighth-mile Ross Racing Piston Outlaw 8.5 action, Manny Figueroa ran every round in the 5.4-second zone and in the final the racer from Moorpark, Calif., kept it up with a 5.429 to Rick Hatch’s tire smoking 6.054 effort.


AOS Hot Street came down to a battle of GM pony cars as Anthony Valentino out of Downey, Calif., drove his 1968 Camaro to an 8.300 win over Los Angeles’s Joe Keurjikian’s ’69 Trans Am that ran 8.391.
