Chad Langdon and Mike Blodgett Sr., both went to two final rounds of their respective classes, Stock/Super Stock and Super Street during the season-opening SoCal Association races March 11 and 12 at Auto Club Dragway.

Langdon drove his E/SA ’71 Barracuda to the DNB Engineering/Calvert Racing Stock/Super Stock winner’s circle on Saturday evening when he stopped the all-new Factory Stock COPO Camaro of Tim Seymour.
Sunday Langdon got to the final, but was edged out by Stockton, Calif., racer Dennis Paz and his SS/MA El Camino.
Coming off a banner year when he won the SoCal Super Street series championship, Mike Blodgett Sr., put his ’69 Chevy Nova into the final round both days, losing to Temecula, Calif-racer David Butler (near lane) in race number one, sponsored by Daniel Racing, then coming back to beat Daniel McClelland in the Ambassador Classic final on Sunday.
The Southern California Pro Gas Assoc., opened its season with wins by Dave Meziere (near lane) in the Russ Harris Memorial Race, as he defeated Paul Wiechmann in the final round.
Kevin McClelland, who posted a quarterfinal finish on Saturday, beat Bob Harris in the final of the Champion Cooling Systems-sponsored race on Sunday.
James Warden of Temecula, Calif., was a first-time winner in the SCEDA Super Comp class, defeating Brian Fischle in Saturday’s final.

Ryan McClanahan (near lane) drove his beautiful ’17 RaceTech dragster to the winner’s circle when he ran an 8.904 with a .004 Reaction Time to defeat Matt Fischle in the Sunday Super Comp final.
Kaitlyn McGee drove her dragster to a final round 7.87, 176.05 (7.86 dial) win in Saturday’s SCEDA Electronics class, defeating Craig Dales, while Don Mehling picked up the Sunday Electronics win by stopping Elliot Franco in the final. Nick Van Horn went to the Sportsman ET final both days of the event, but couldn’t get to the winner’s circle, losing to Charlie Allen on Saturday and Jeff Walson on Sunday.
Brian Clark drove his ’68 Roadrunner to the non-electronics class win over Kelly Davis on Sunday.
Jerry Smith drove his ’67 Chevelle to a Non-Electronics final round win over Justin Ball.

Saturday’s SCEDA Junior race winners included Alden Ramos (6-9 year), Samantha Pellettera (10-12), and Jason Horridge (13 plus). Sunday Junior winners were Jacob Hodges (6-9 year), Madison Gordon (10-12), and Damon Bustamante (13-plus).
The next race weekend for the Southern California association groups will be June 10-11 at Auto Club Dragway, Fontana, Calif.
