“There’s going to be a lot going on this weekend. It will be exciting and fun but, of course, we want to go out with a bang and win our final race together,” she said of her Nicky Boninfante-Tommy DeLago led Funny Car team, “As much as that track means to me, a win there would be unreal.” [11/09/17]
Promoter Ozzy Moya has posted this notice concerning the Lakeland Dragstrip: "It’s with a broken heart that I make this post. Mr. Spiker has let us know that he has accepted an offer from a developer to purchase the whole facility (dragstrip and mud hole). Unfortunately for us, they were able to offer more than us. I personally would like to thank all the RACERS, SPONSORS, STAFF AND FANS for supporting us for the last 6 yrs. I’m going to miss all the great folks who shared their days with us. Again, I am truly grateful to everyone. Thank you very much. Ozzy, Maria and the whole Lakeland family." [11/09/17]
The KB Racing trio in action at the Charlotte 4-Wides this past April. Is this the order they will finish the season?
One thing is for certain this year, the Pro Stock champion will be from the KB Racing team.
The trio of Greg Anderson, Bo Butner, and Jason Line have won 10 races during the 2017 NHRA season, including four of the five playoff races thus far. Anderson has the inside track on his fifth world championship, holding a 40-point lead on Butner and a 76-point advantage on reigning world champ Line.
“This is a dream come true for us, but now we have to go out there and settle it amongst ourselves,” Anderson said. “It's great to have that 40-point lead with my red Summit Racing Chevy Camaro, but still, each round will be worth 30 points in Pomona. This isn't over yet. As great of a weekend we had in Las Vegas, to only come out 40 points ahead, you'll probably have to go to Pomona and win the race if you're going to be world champ. That's the way it should be, though. You have to earn every inch of it. I expect a complete knock-down, drag-out brawl." [11/09/17]
COMP Cams Micro Surface Enhancement
COMP Cams Micro Surface Enhancement™ (MSE) is a finishing process that improves the traditional camshaft lobe and bearing journal through a 65-percent reduction in surface peak roughness and provides a 250-percent improvement in the effective load bearing area. Additionally, MSE utilizes uniform press across the camshaft lobe face that reduces the surface waviness common with other finishing techniques. The resulting camshaft surface more evenly distributes load for increased durability. MSE also removes the sharp edges and microscopic machining marks that normally result from the grinding process.
