New owners at Marion Co. Raceway sign with IHRA

Marion County Raceway  in La Rue, OH, is celebrating its 50th year of operation in 2019 and new owners Katie Lotsberg and Kevin Jewer have signed a multi-year sanctioning agreement with the IHRA.

The track opened as a motocross facility in 1969 and held its first drag race in 1971.

Lotsberg and Jewer, both drag racers, first met at a race in New Hampshire and when the engaged couple had the opportunity to purchase Marion County Raceway, they jumped at it.

“We are familiar with racing,” said Lotsberg, “but a good surprise was how much this community loves this track and wants to see it stick around for a long time to come. We hope to keep it a great racing facility for another 50 years.”
