Drawing at Norwalk will fill Summit Series Championship fields

Summit Racing Equipment and the NHRA will hold a special drawing at this weekend’s Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, OH. The drawing will determine which NHRA division will send the eighth driver in each of the four Summit Racing Series classes (Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman, and Motorcycle) to complete the pool of racers vying for the 2018 NHRA Summit Racing Series National Championship.

The first seven representatives in each class are made up of the NHRA Summit Racing Series Division Finals champions in each of the NHRA divisions 1 through 5 while divisions 6 and 7 send their Race of Champions winner to the national championship competition.

To complete the eight-car field, if any of the NHRA Divisions 1-5 are drawn, that division’s Race of Champions winner will advance to the national championship as the eighth man. If Divisions 6 or 7 are drawn, the division finals event champion will advance to complete the field.

Ten New Designs for Quick Time Bellhousing and Flexplates

Quick Time has expanded their line of bellhousings and flexplates with 10 new designs, including six bellhousings, three flexplates, and an index plate. Built to withstand even the most extreme stresses generated by high-horsepower street and race engines, Quick Time bellhousings feature patented spun-cone construction that creates twice the strength of ordinary rolled or stamped steel bellhousings. They keep the engine and transmission in perfect alignment at all rpm, eliminating accelerated drivetrain wear caused by bellhousing flex. All openings are precision-cut using a five-axis laser, and all dowel and mounting holes are drilled on a CNC machining center and are accurate to within half a thousandth of an inch, eliminating any chance of misalignment. Sixteen different patents are registered for Quick Time's revolutionary manufacturing processes, which are designed to prevent catastrophic failure of even a 29-pound flywheel spinning at more than 10,000 rpm. Quick Time flexplates are SFI-certified direct OEM replacements that significantly improve your engine's acceleration and deceleration because of their lightweight design. Designed to stand up to the punishing forces of high-stall torque converters and high-RPM engines, they're zinc-plated to protect against corrosion, neutral-balanced, and made entirely in the USA.
