Off the Track: Tupelo Automobile Museum to auction car collection

Some of the cars in the collection include a Lincoln previously owned by Elvis Presley (shown) and a 1994 Dodge Viper with 12 miles on the odometer.

The Tupelo, MS, Clarion Ledger reports that 177 vehicles in the Tupelo Automobile Museum will be sold at auction in late April and the museum will be closed.

The museum was started by the late Frank Spain to fund a charitable educational foundation. Proceeds from the sale of the car collection will go to the foundation. The museum will close in late March or early April in preparation for the auction. The auction will be April 25-27 through a partnership with Bonham’s Auctioneers and consultant Wayne Carini of Velocity Channel’s “Chasing Classic Cars.”
