Prestone seeks cars for LA rally celebrating 90th anniversary

We doubt the 2011 Prestone-sponsored Top Fuel dragster driven by Spencer Massey will be in the celebration (it couldn’t make the parade distance) but is should be in the display.

Prestone® Products Corporation is commencing a search for extraordinary vehicles to participate in an extensive rally throughout Los Angeles, covering ground from the historic Hollywood Hills to the scenic Pacific Coast Highway.

The rally, beginning the morning of Tuesday, Nov. 28, is a culmination of Prestone’s year-long 90th anniversary celebration and will include a celebratory cruise-in at the Petersen Automotive Museum, where the cars will be housed the night of Nov. 28.

The rally will continue the morning of Wednesday, Nov. 29, where a selection of top cars from the tour will be displayed at the Los Angeles Convention Center to jumpstart the second full day of AutoMobility LA 2017, the annual trade show that precedes the 110th LA Auto Show.

Prestone is looking for cars with a unique backstory, from barn finds to vehicles that have been passed down in families for generations, rare sports cars, hot rods, supercars and more. Anyone with an exceptional vehicle is encouraged to email Prestone@JMPRPublicRelations.com to be considered for the rally.

A DRO problem and the solution: Clear your cache

We have gotten a few messages from readers saying they are getting an error message when loading the new version of our magazine.

According to our web monkey “The recent update to the software did this and then the company put out another update which seems to have remedied the issue. But until then readers should do as the pop up suggests, clear their browser cache. It seems that when a new version of a page or the site is uploaded, the cache on the user’s computer that has a stored version of the page or pages is in conflict with the updated version and that is why the pop up comes up.”

Mouhayet readies new car for Australia’s ‘Nitro Up North’

Australia's newest 'Slammer has broken cover, showing off a livery championing new marketing partners Komatsu and Mack Trucks. The contrasting white on black scheme proves that good looks run in the family, with this '68 Fastback following in the tire track of its twin turbo 2014 Mustang big brother.

Paul Mouhayet and the entire MOITS team have been burning the midnight oil continuously since the Jerry Bickel car hit Aussie shores a week ago. The car is now almost ready to be pushed into the team’s new transporter and head off on the long trek to their debut outing at the Nitro Up North event at Darwin's Hidden Valley Drag Strip on July 21-22.

Numbers dip for NHRA at Joliet

The audience numbers for the NHRA Route 66 Nationals took a big dip from the previous event shown on FS1. Joliet had just 534,000 viewers for a 0.39 rating compared to Norwalk’s 1,076,00 viewers and 0.65 rating two weeks earlier.
